Sunday I had the honor and privilege of spending the day with my child getting ready for her child’s arrival.
We did normal stuff like a run to Target to make sure all the items are ready in her home in case of sniffles, need for enhanced water intake, an infant fever and the very common (but I hope we don’t need) “Boogie Wipes”. It may have been the best day of my life ever! So much fun, laughs, love and precious mommy and me time before my baby becomes a mommy.
To end the day we finished with time at the nail salon getting blue nail polish (we are expecting to meet a little boy soon) on our toes and nails. Nothing will make me happier than getting to meet this little guy and see his sweet face in the very near future. Until that time I get to enjoy Sundays with my girl. Buying baby things, making memories and supporting her anyway I possibly can.
You see this is even a little extra special because, thanks to Scleroderma and being sicker than a dog for a decade, I almost missed it all. As I approach the 5 year mark from my life saving procedure called Stem Cell Transplant I get gut punched when I realized how close I came to missing it all.
Today I am grateful beyond words and measure at how lucky I am. So very very lucky. As a friend I knew long ago used to say…I’ll take another 24.
